Poetic Interlude XIII

I have used love, and all imaginations
To name you into being, and being mine.
All passion's words, all wordless passion
Lies in my breath when I hear your name.

Beyond heaven's gate - pure gold and clearest glass,
Through our love the image of a man -
Kneeling and offering himself to God;
His woman's hand in his, his heart in hers.

Too long I've lingered in the quiet mornings
Looking for promises and purpose in the fog.
Pulling at the reigns of timed tradition;
The wall of wisdom separating from the world.

I have used love, and hope beyond imagining
To draw you with incomparable bands
All gold, still warm from hidden alchemy;
Turning despair to desire, to fortune, to living love.
